I live on the lovely Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Mon), and make my jewellery at home in a little workshop I have set up in the conservatory. Hunting for Beach Glass or Sea Glass gives me (and my husband) an excellent excuse to visit the wonderful beaches here on the island.
There are wonderful colours of Beach Glass to find, from white through lilac and blue and all manner of aqua colours to beer bottle brown and gin bottle green.
I like to think of the Beach Collection as great recycling and I now use Argentium* wire which is made from recycled silver.
The Beach Collection is made of Beach (Sea) Glass collected on local beaches here on Anglesey and further afield in the Highlands of Scotland, Orkney and Cornwall. Although the glass is well tumbled by the sea I generally tumble it a little more to give a finer appearance and to enhance the colour. This, however, doesn’t change the naturally tumbled shapes. Finding two pieces close enough in appearance for a pair of earrings is always a challenge. Hence, no two pieces of jewellery are ever quite the same. Occasionally we find extra large pieces of beach glass and these I will cut and tumble but I will state this in the individual items information in the shop. If there is nothing currently in the shop that appeals please take a look at the Gallery of past pieces and get in touch if you see something you like, I am always happy to make something similar.
The Fusion Collection is made using a particular type of glass that I cut and fire in a kiln. As firing the coloured glass can be unpredictable, like the Beach Collection, each piece of jewellery is unique. Using this glass offers me the opportunity to use a bigger and more vibrantly coloured range of glass.
Putting these two ranges of glass together with sterling silver and argentium silver*, I endeavour to create jewellery that is attractive and easy to wear on many different occasions.
I use Sterling Silver fittings and chains and mostly Argentium* wires but sometimes leather, rubber, silk or cord. Each piece of jewellery in the shop has a description of how it is made up.
*Argentium is purer that standard 925 sterling silver, is brighter than sterling silver, platinum, or white gold, is highly tarnish resistant and therefore lower maintenance, is hypoallergenic and Argentium is made from 100% recycled silver.
Due to the success of Christmas sales and orders I am very sorry that my shop is now closed until February 2019. Please come back then when I will have lots of new items in stock. Dismiss
